Farewell party for Nicholas Crombach, studio instructor extraordinaire.

IMG_7022It It was a bittersweet experience to say farewell to our beloved studio instructor Nicholas Crombach as he heads off to the UK for a year long  residency  in East London at the  Florence Trust. www.florencetrust.org.

Although we will miss him, and his cheery, helpful disposition. We all are extremely happy and excited for him,  and  the wonderful opportunity he is about to embark upon. We all wish him every success, and look forward to how this life changing experience will affect his creative process and outcomes. Here are a few shots of our send off thanks to Sid Golden for his wonderful photography.

Chihuly Exhibition at the Rom

I experienced a most delightful afternoon at the ROM viewing the Chihuly exhibition. It was a wonderful escape from them relentless heat that seems to have invaded our city. The technical mastery and sheer beauty are awe inspiring, and I recommend that any one in Toronto make the effort to see these works.  for a more in depth review I have attached a link.

But I will add a few of my own shots  for those of you how want a quick hit.

The large scale pieces are mind blowing  and fall into the realm of excessive abundance and are quite overwhelming, however the subtle beauty of the small native basket inspired works are intimate and exceedingly precious and delicate.
